We may have been surrounded by horses and high spirits - but this wasn’t just another day at the races. TrackBack’s 20th anniversary celebration brought together team members old and new for a brilliant day of reflection, recognition, and one very handsome award.
Setting the tone
As always, Gareth Thomas set the tone, with a few well-aimed digs, some heartfelt thanks, and plenty of stories to get the day off to a flying start. Especially about how far we’ve come.
TrackBack, trading under 10ACT Ltd, was officially incorporated in 2005 - although, as Gareth reminded everyone, “They didn’t actually do anything until 2006,” so we’ve now got an excuse to celebrate again next year!
The event wasn’t just about the milestone - it was about the people who’ve made TrackBack what it is today. Gareth gave special mention to three team members who joined in the same six-week stretch during the summer of 2015 - and are still with us a decade later.
Honouring a Decade of Dedication
This year’s celebration also shone a spotlight on three people who reached their 10-year milestone with TrackBack - all of whom joined within weeks of each other during the summer of 2015.

- Mike Lloyd-Jones joined on 22 June 2015 and quickly became a cornerstone of the technical team. Known for tackling the most complex product challenges, Mike has been instrumental in shaping the TrackBack platform into what it is today. Gareth joked that whenever a new feature brief is met with sighs from the dev team, “it’s going to be a Mike job.” His ability to reimagine and rebuild systems to meet client needs has made him invaluable.
- Just a month later, on 27 July 2015, Cassie Beale joined the support team. Rising quickly through the ranks, she is now Technical Services Manager and Data Protection Officer. Cassie was praised for transforming the helpdesk into a smooth, professional operation that consistently delivers for clients. Her leadership has ensured that client queries are handled proactively and positively - often making the difference between a client simply using TrackBack and truly valuing it. Cassie’s dedication and focus have made her an essential part of the company’s growth.
- Finally, on 3 August 2015, Rebecca Clark came on board as a developer and has since grown into her role as Development Manager. Over the past year in particular, Rebecca has taken on additional responsibility and delivered time and again, even when projects have been demanding. Her technical expertise and steady leadership have been key to TrackBack’s expansion, and she continues to be a highly valued member of the team.
Together, Mike, Cassie, and Rebecca represent the best of TrackBack: technical brilliance, resilience, and a commitment to making the business better year after year.
Reaching 10 years with any company is no small achievement - reaching it with such impact is something worth celebrating.
A Record-Breaking Year
After the laughter and applause, Gareth moved into a quick company update - and the numbers speak for themselves. TrackBack is on track for 33% revenue growth in 2025, building on a record-breaking 2024.
New product launches like WhatsApp tracking are already landing with major clients. Our first AI integration is just around the corner, and we are very close to welcoming two new automotive brands - a major milestone in our expansion plans.
The Bill Murray Award
Then came the moment many were waiting for: The Bill Murray Award. Created in memory of our former chairman and mentor, the award recognises someone who’s made a big cultural impact on TrackBack.

This year’s winner? Maggie Betteridge - for her professionalism, her calm authority in running helpdesk updates, and her uncanny ability to just get things done (even if she’s still getting ready for the races when Gareth rings with a last-minute task). No fuss, no drama - just dependable, proactive work that lifts the whole business.
Reflections from the Founders
As the glasses were raised and the speeches wrapped up, co-founder and chairman Jerry Horwood took the mic to share his own reflections.
What started as a germ of an idea in 2005 has grown into a 100-strong company - one that’s not only delivering for global automotive brands, but is also known for being collaborative, proactive, and rock solid when it matters most.
“There’s a kind of pride that’s not about ego,” Jerry said .“It’s about seeing good people build something meaningful, together.”
Here’s to the next 20 years.
