There’s more than one language spoken at TrackBack.
Across our team, we have colleagues who speak a wide range of languages, including English, German, Italian, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Russian, Afrikaans, Punjabi, Turkish and Cantonese, and more.
That’s at least 11 languages across the business, and there might be a few more we haven’t counted yet.
We thought that was worth celebrating.
We don’t talk about this every day, but it says a lot about the people who make up TrackBack. Behind the work, the reports and the client conversations, there’s a team bringing different backgrounds and experiences to the business.
And language is a big part of that.
More than just speaking another language
Knowing more than one language means more than just translating words. Language is often tied to where we grew up, who we spent time with, and the experiences we’ve had.
For some, speaking two languages feels completely normal. They might use one at home and another at work, switching between them without even thinking. Others pick up another language later on, spending years practicing and building confidence. No matter how someone learns a new language, it gives them another way to connect with others.
It can also shape how people understand conversations. The same words might mean something different depending on the language or even how they’re said. This is especially interesting to us because so much of our work focuses on communication.
Different backgrounds bring different perspectives
One great thing about having a multilingual team is the different experiences everyone brings to daily conversations. Someone might share a phrase that doesn’t really translate into English. Someone else might explain how things are said differently in their home country.
You won’t find these things in a job description, but they make working with people from different backgrounds much more interesting. They also help us see things from new perspectives.
At TrackBack, we value that everyone brings something unique to the team, whether it’s their experience, knowledge, or just a different way of seeing things.
A multilingual team behind the scenes
Some of our colleagues grew up with more than one language. Others learned a second or third language later in life. Some use their languages regularly outside work, while others use them when supporting international programs or talking with clients.
There are also people whose language skills might not come up very often during the working day.
Unless you happen to ask, you might never know that someone you work with speaks another language fluently. That’s part of what makes this so interesting.
Why communication matters to us
Although this is a story about our people, there’s a natural connection to what we do. At TrackBack, we spend a lot of time looking at how automotive retailers communicate with customers.
We know good communication isn’t just about answering questions. It’s about listening, understanding what someone needs, and responding in a way that makes them feel supported.
Tone matters. So does context. A conversation can be technically correct but still leave someone feeling that their enquiry hasn’t really been understood.
Having people within the business who speak different languages and have experienced different ways of communicating gives us a broader perspective. It also shows the international side of the automotive industry, where customer expectations can be different from one market to another.
It’s the people who make the difference
More than anything, this is a people story. Every business relies on the people who make things happen. They bring their personalities, knowledge, and experiences to work every day.
And in our case, they also bring a lot of languages.
Not everyone uses their language skills at work, but that’s not really the point. Sometimes it’s simply nice to recognise something about the people you work with that goes beyond their job title.
Different languages. One TrackBack team. And that’s something we’re proud to celebrate.
